What is life like in Heathfields

At Heathfield we accommodate up to 4 children, male, female and non-binary between the ages of 6 and 18 years. We accept and welcome applications for children who have experienced physical and/or emotional abuse or neglect and those with a Learning Disability.

Heathfields have a staff office and sleep-in room with en-suite downstairs accomodation.

Heathfield has all customary features of a spacious modern home, including a large lounge/dining room, a modern kitchen with a seating area where the young people can sit and relax, read, or socialise with peers, there is also a separate utility room. There is also a downstairs toilet, and a multipurpose room which can be used for meetings and family visits, this also has its own separate area for tea/coffee making facilities and separate toilet. The multi-purpose room can also be used for the young people to use as an additional space to relax and can also be an area to hold children’s parties. There is an additional space which can be used as a sensory/ chill out room which has a range of sensory activities to help the young people be able to calm down, as well as gain appropriate levels of sensory feedback to help their sensory processing needs.

The home has a safe back garden which is fenced and there are two outside buildings that can be adapted to an art room and another outside building which can be adapted to suit the needs of the young people.

All bedrooms are amply furnished, have their own shower rooms and include a lockable space for valuables.

Heathfield is located in a thriving residential community near the Southern coastline, close to local amenities. The house is accessible to many green spaces, good schools and public transport, with buses to both Southampton City Centre and Fareham. The nearest train station is Swanwick which is 1.1 miles away.

There is a local shopping centre within walking distance of the home which also hosts many other amenities such as a Sports Community Centre, Library and Youth Club.

Donna Morris is the Registered Manager.

My name is Donna Morris and I am the Manager of the home. It is my job to manage the home every day and make sure that the staff are there to help you. II will always make myself available to chat and spend time with youhappy to speak to you if I’m not in a meeting or on the phone.
